OPENING: CMFPC DIRECTOR
The Charlotte Mecklenburg Food Policy Council seeks a Director to lead and help shape our growing organization in service of its mission: to advocate for policies that build a sustainable, equitable and healthy local food system. The goals of our council are to enhance the health of our citizens, strengthen local economies and market opportunities, and reduce hunger and food insecurity.
The Director of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Food Policy Council (CMFPC) is a part-time position and is the key management leader of the organization. The Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization in compliance with all pertinent laws. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors and supervises all CMFPC staff, including volunteers.
The Charlotte Mecklenburg Food Policy Council is a community-based and community-focused organization managing a variety of local food production, food security and food access efforts. Our mission is to strengthen our community by:
CMFPC has a working board that is very engaged in day-to-day operations of the organization. The CMFPC is also supported by two FoodCorps service members, an active member and volunteer base, and various partnerships.
Salary dependent on experience and other qualifications. The position would require 15 hours per week on average.
